Welcome to Wordsmith Studio’s Weekly Prompt!
Every Thursday we’ll post a new topic for your creative pleasure. When you get a good flash story, memory, poem, or photo (or three, or five) post them to your blog, website, Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. Then come back here and post a link to your contribution(s) in the comments.
This Week’s Theme is: GRAPHIC
We have graphic novels*, graphic description (OMG,TMI!), graphic designs, and graphic tees. What does the word “graphic” trigger for you? Go with that first impulse – write that graphic sex scene and then figure out where you are going to post it because it sure won’t be on WSS… Sorry, we are PG13 around here. Write it anyway just to prove that you can.
Or is a graphic novel your secret desire? Come on, they are main stream now. Share your secret life with us.
Unfortunately, I think of Aunt Henrietta sharing her surgery stories. UGH! Such detail! But she would make a great character study.
I think that bold black and white prints are the “new black”. Show us your fashion savvy.
So write, snap, or create something that “graphic” represents for you.
* A graphic novel is a book made up of comics content. Although the word “novel” normally refers to long fictional works, the term “graphic novel” is applied broadly, and includes fiction, non-fiction, and anthologized work. It is distinguished from the term “comic book“, which is used for comics periodicals.” Wikipedia
