A Prompt of Thanksgiving

Welcome to Wordsmith Studio’s Weekly Prompt!

WSS-logoEvery Thursday we’ll post a new topic for your creative pleasure.  When you get a good flash story, memory, poem, or photo (or three, or five) post them to your blog, website, Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. Then come back here and post a link to your contribution(s) in the comments.

This Week’s Theme is: Thanksgiving

The first Thanksgiving in America was held October 1621 by Plymouth Colony Pilgrims in appreciation of assistance from members of the Massasoit tribe and celebration of the first harvest. But, did you know the phrase “to give thanks,” is from the same root as “think?” So, in essence, the word Thanksgiving is a THOUGHT and EXPRESSION of thanks.

For this prompt, we’re going to be thankful for WORDS, for WRITING, and for THINKING.

Get Creative!

There are 370 words that can be created from the word Thanksgiving, not including proper names. THINK of eight and then write your giblets off.

As an example, here’s a Wordle with the words I’m Thinking of using:

My Thanksgiving post isn’t the wordle, but I’m passing it on here anyway. I was late seeing the wordle prompt, so maybe tomorrow . . . after the meal! For now, here’s a reminiscence about Thanksgiving and home: http://gerrygwilson.com/2013/11/27/through-the-woods-and-all-that/
